Ah yes, BoF3 was one of the RPGs I've invested the most time in. The Goo King Sword does indeed exist. I believe every BoF game always had some weapon that was stronger than the supposed mythical Dragon Sword/Blade. The Goo King does drop it, but the chances are very low. He also has it in BoF4, but it's incredibly hard to get (I must have played for over twenty hours getting one). While it's dangerous, an easier way to get one is to steal his Green Apple from him, so he doesn't run away. Of course, you'll get hit with deadly attacks like Sirocco (or something like that) and probably be killed if the team isn't strong enough. I had a team that had like Lvl 60 Rei, Lvl 70 Nina and Lvl 99 Ryu (but he was "weak" at that point). If you have trouble facing him, you can fight Arch Mage and Berserker in the Junkyard, but you probably already knew that. Berserker might seem harder than Arch Mage, but it really depends. If you have Fire Rings on your characters, you won't have to worry about Berserker too much, since he often uses "Fire Whip". Arch Mage is tougher unless your lvl is high and you have high agility and power. Deis and Ladon are good for that. A Thunder Ring can help against Arch Mage because he has the tendency to use his high powered electric attack. However, reaching a "Game Over" on Arch Mage is pretty rare since he's an odd " pity" monster who may use Benediction on your party if you're down to one character standing. He's hard to defeat because he regenerates half his life each turn (1500 HP). EDIT: Oh yeah, I'll check on Bill's Flea Market later. There's actually a few outlets in my area besides Bill's (Video Game Heaven), so I'll probably just make a list later.

Welcome tougherthanyou! Just doing some routine maintenance and thought I should also welcome you to our humble forum. Things will pick up in due time. If you got questions about games, me and Vyse know a lot more than we probably should about games, so feel free to ask.
Enjoy your stay!
On topic: I used to play games so much back in the early-mid nineties, but now I just find myself mostly evaluating games if anything at all. My favorite systems are NES, Genesis, SNES, and TG16/CD. My favorite handheld units are Game Gear, the classic Game Boy and NGPC, although I'm open to pretty much anything. Where does the time go...

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been around in a while. I found a copy of Soulblazer recently! I have never played it but obviously I love Illusion of Gaia so I figured I had to pick it up. I think I'm gonna give it a go once I'm done with Suikoden III.

It's hard to say how much I actually appreciate Soul Blazer. It isn't such a bad game per se, but it definitely lacks polish in several areas. To me, Soul Blazer seemed more like an experimental departure to see what they could do with concepts from the original Actraiser. There is a sense of being a "god" when you slowly restore areas to their original state and while it was a hack-n-slash and sim (in essence) like Actraiser, it had a top-down view like Illusion of Gaia. Some things hit while others miss. It's a mixed bag...but the plot and character development (which is pretty scarce) is what turns me off with the game.
I played it to its completion, but it felt forced; I didn't really care about the end, but if you love both Illusion of Gaia and Actraiser, you'll probably love Soul Blazer.

So an older woman who lives in town needed help cleaning out her shed (which was trashed). She has a fixed income so I told her I'd do it for free and she said I could keep anything I found in there because she was going to throw it all out anyways. Well, she has a son who lives across the country now and he had a bunch of games in the shed. Among them:
Final Fantasy Tactics Lunar 1 & 2 Legend of Mana (never played, any good?) Vandal Hearts Parasite Eve Breath of Fire III Chrono Cross Suikoden II (I told her it was worth a good amount of money, she said keep it) and a box of SNES games that I haven't gone through yet.
I must say, it was well worth my time.

OK, a few things here: 1) I'm really late with this list of places to get older games in VA, but... HERE...I...GO! X-treme Media tends to have so many deals on the older games that it's nuts. They also have other occasional things like gaming memorabilia, toys, mangas, movies, animes and a pretty nice atmosphere. They also hold gaming tournaments and stuff, but I don't usually have time for that. X-TREME MEDIA
DVDS, VIDEOGAMES, VIDEOGAME SYSTEMS, AND MORE
MAIN STORE: (MATT) 928 DIAMOND SPRINGS RD, SUITE 105, VA 23455 TELEPHONE (757) 216-5369 *^This is the store I go to.
FLEA MARKET LOCATIONS: (BILL)
JEFFERSON AVE/ NEWPORT NEWS INGRAMS/ NORFOLK TELEPHONE (757) 717-4529I honestly can't say much about Video Game Heaven. The one I used to visit all the time was great until it was burned down, and the place where I got a few of my rarer Genesis releases years back. They only have one other location, which I've never been to honestly. From what I heard, it's supposed to be better than the one I visited. VIDEO GAME HEAVEN, INC.
WE BUY, SELL & TRADE MOVIES & GAMES
681 N. BATTLEFIELD BLVD. ACROSS FROM CHES. GENERAL (757) 547-7577There's also this place called "Game On". I've been to the Kempsville area... they don't exactly have the greatest prices (they seem to almost be competing with eBay), but you can occasionally find some good deals on things like Nintendo and GB games. I recently got Wiz N' Liz (Genesis) Lufia and Rox (GBC) and some of the harder-to-find NES games like Galaxy 5000 from there. I'll list both their VA locations. Game On - VA-Dam Neck 1630 General Booth Blvd. - Suite 112B Virginia Beach, VA - 23456 Phone: 757.721.GAME Email: damneck@gameonvb.com
Game On - VA-Kempsville 4878 Princess Anne Rd - Suite 106 Virginia Beach, VA - 23462 Phone: 757.502.8355 Email: kempsville@gameonvb.com ^Website: www.gotmygameon.com[/b] There are a number of other places here (besides pawn shops and the like, which are good too) that I haven't fully explored, but those are some of the big ones I can think of. 2) You got a steal getting all those great games and you deserved it; you cleaned the lady's shed for free. Legend of Mana is widely considered a good game with a great story... if you play the game in order. The thing is though, it wasn't quite designed to be played in order and you probably won't play it in order without an FAQ. The visuals are beautiful and the music is pretty nice, but the combat system is... well, it's kinda broken. I was also deeply moved by the multi-player aspect, which almost seemed ruined to me. I wouldn't call it Square's best, but if you really enjoyed any of the previous Mana games, then it shouldn't put you off much.
