i was doing some research for my li'l site for whomp 'em for the nes and i happened to notice that the game was released in japan as 'saiyuuki world 2: tenjoukai no majin'. i've been a fan of whomp 'em since i was a wee lad, so the idea of whomp 'em being a sequel to another game in the series made me all excited.
so, i looked around and found me a copy of the original saiyuuki world. it's a bit different hehe. it's not bad....in fact, i spent about an hour or so playing it with a smile on my face and enjoying myself. but it really has very little in common with the whomp 'em...er....saiyuuki world 2 that i grew up with. the game was definitely not what i had expected....but i wasn't disappointed by it, either. i rather enjoyed it.
has anyone else played this game? and if so, what're your thoughts on it?

I've never played either of the Saiyuuki World games, but I did see Whomp 'Em in a store that I visit every now and then...I still kick myself for not buying it! However, I did get Kickle Cubicle that day, so it wasn't so bad.

whomp 'em seems to appear on a somewhat regular basis out here. if you'd like, i could keep an eye out and pick it up for ya when i see it. and i agree about kickle cubicle...picking up that underappreciated game would make just about anything better.
