*NEW!*Gaming Sanctuary Is Accepting Game Credits!
It's just like it says. If you have beaten a game and you have the credits or can get them, please send them to worldofgaming@yahoo.com with the subject name "Game Credits for [insert game and system]", or post them in the Game Credits Board. Gaming Sanctuary would like everyone to know who made what if it is at all possible. Certain games like "Maru's Mission" for Game Boy...well, they conveniently don't have any credits!
Does Gaming Sanctuary Accept FAQS?
The FAQs (or frequently-asked-questions) hosted on Gaming Sanctuary are owned by me, Vyse the determined, so far. While I have no intention of accepting Game FAQs at the moment, feel free to make a thread where further discussion can take place. Submitting work is still a very new and early concept at this stage of the game. System FAQs with systems specs and general system info however is currently feasible. The way I formed the SNES System FAQ was by compiling input from numerous knowledgeable gamers and forum members. This was most easily created by simply making a thread where people made questions and answers, criticism, and friendly conversation. Once the random information was in the open, I organized it and coded the FAQ.
Does Gaming Sanctuary Accept Game Reviews?
I have changed my mind about review submissions. I just realized that I have inserted the mini-reviews of others (only one), but inserting full reviews may be difficult at this time and I am holding off on any other review submissions (images are still fine). However, if you're going to take pics, etc., you can have no fewer than 4 images and no greater than 8. Also, certain rules apply:
Please send us the images uncompressed (.bmp) or as high-quality .png. Also, please don't transfer more than 10MB of data to me at one time. However, you can send multiple large files as long as they don't exceed 10MB. The reason? I have DSL, but my CPU still seems to have trouble dealing with uploads more than 10MB (Unless they are videos) so I'm going to play it safe for now.
You can send images for reviews, magazine scans, game artwork and more at worldofgaming@yahoo.com
I should note: If you are submitting drawings and fanart, the art should be original in some way, even if it is a reproduction of existing art. Don't just scan up a chick or guy from a mag and send it in as yours.
-----An addendum to art submission-----
You will also have information under you (if you would like) as well as an image you feel represents you. It can be information you would like me to post for you, or a link to a blog, myspace, or such. If you want any additional notes, please let me know. If you want an image in your archive, please make sure that it is no bigger than 450 by 450 px. (Width= 450 Height= 450 pixels) when submitting it to me and the image should be no bigger than 100KB in size. Please specify the category or theme of the art (Ex: Gothic, Hip Hop, Fantasy, War, Anime, Misc., etc.) if it is original art or the game title (or series) if it is fan art. Also, image descriptions must be kept brief and around 20 words. As with anything on the site, images must not be totally obscene or rude. I'm trying to maintain an atmosphere fit for all individuals. With all that being said, all submissions will not automatically be accepted. I must still review them myself. I apologize, but I don't have a system that will allow direct user input at this time.
Do You Accept MP3s, WAVs, or Other Audio Files?
Some tracks are freely distributed, others are not. As far as using music for forum purposes, I don't think I ever will. It'll just slow the boards down, besides the fact that they will prove to be a distraction. As far as accepting them, I'm open to it, but I will only use a handful of tracks per game. We aren't trying to make game OSTs at this time. We currently have audio samples for games.
Do You Accept Donations?
We...do not accept donations. While the main site is paid for out of my own pocket, the forum is free. I do not accept donations simply because I don't want you to feel obligated to. If the site is in a bind...I'll probably just cut my losses, though I doubt it will get to that point.
How About Game Play Videos?
Feel free to post links to game related videos you've made. You can post urls to videos you have uploaded on youtube and the like. Videos for odd games (particularly old ones) can be hosted on the site (with your username) for others to see. It will be linked into the General Gaming Interests section. Opening Videos are fine, but if you have a video that has anything that gives off SPOILERS, you MUST MARK THE VIDEO WITH "SPOILERS!!!" OR ELSE IT MAY BE REJECTED. Yes even something like the famous Aeris ***** is a spoiler, I don't care how many millions of people have played it.
That's all for now, but I will add more to this as I go.
